New Risk Surveyor role in South East Queensland
Asset Inspect provides property risk survey inspections throughout Australia, specifically for the insurance underwriting industry. We are a trusted and preferred service provider for many leading local and international insurers and brokers.
Our specialty is hard-to-place risks for the SME market including EPS facilities, industrial warehouses, manufacturing facilities, pubs/hotels, motels, clubs, restaurants, car dealers, marinas, waste and recycling facilities, timber saw mills, poultry farms, abattoirs and retail shopping centres.
Asset Inspect continues to enjoy strong growth and is seeking to expand its team with the appointment of an Insurance Risk Surveyor in or near Brisbane or the Gold Coast.
You will be required to:
- Provide underwriters and brokers with detailed technical reports on the risks involved in a particular portfolio of property insurance policies
- Inspect properties to identify hazards and obtain information on factors such as the construction of buildings, fire equipment, security measures, public liability exposures and the work processes that take place in a location
- Look at factors such as the condition of property, possibility of fire or flood damage and the current extent of safety precautions
- Recommend ways in which risks can be minimised and improved in accordance with safety guidelines, Australian standards and government legislation
It is essential that applicants have a technical background in a property-led risk control role, such as risk surveying, or loss adjusting, or building consulting with good knowledge of building construction, fire protection and security measures. Our reports are prepared with the latest in user-friendly app technology using an Apple iPad.
The role is home-based within or near Brisbane or the Gold Coast and will involve a significant amount of metro and regional road travel, including working away from home in locations mainly throughout Queensland and northern NSW and on occasion assisting the team in other states.
The successful applicant will be able to display a commonsense approach to everyday situations, be well-organised, self-motivated, enjoy driving including long distance regional, able to work alone and as part of a team, and also able to communicate effectively with underwriters, brokers, and customers at all levels.
